Nvu is open source and it is a What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get (WYSIWYG) Editor, which means it allows you to work in a Word type document and just drag images, headers, tables, and such to the document without having to deal directly with HTML source code. You can also click on a tab to work with the source code so this is a great tool for beginners. It also has File Transfer Protocol (FTP) built in so you can connect right to the files on your web site.
